How amicable are African divorces

Most marriages end with alot of agitation and rancour. Divorce is always hard on both parties but there have been instances where couples split amicably and are able to establish a long lasting relationship after their separation usually for the sake of the children in scenarios where children are involved.

On a higher scale, marriages tend to end with alot of animosity mostly in situations where there are financial implications such as divorce settlement, spousal support & child support. The ratio for dividing joint investments such as properties and shares are also factors that push them towards fighting dirty.

There are allegations of partners hiding investments in order to keep them out of reach of their spouses in the event of divorce. The most prominent case of a similar situation is that of African born Michael Prest and his wife Yasmin (read the dailymail story here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2794159/oil-trader-owes-ex-wife-17-5m-divorce-battle-told-hand-20-000-appeal-thrown-out.html )

Do African divorces have an amicable settlement or is there alot of bad blood at the end of African marriages?
