Africa and Africans have known war for a long time. Tribes against tribes, communities against communities, kindred against kindred. Most of these wars were embarked on to show dominance and superiority. Other times to expand land mass and livestock.
Colonialism suppressed these alot and later with Independence, these innate traits are starting to rear its head again with the wars that were experienced in places like Liberia, Rwanda, Nigeria, Sudan and still going on in South Sudan.
Often times, the West have been blamed on the conflicts in the African nations. Sometimes its a case of 'the colonial masters never really understood the Africans and should never have grouped too many ethnically diverse tribes into a nation'. This is usually blamed as a major reason why there are ethnic conflicts within the African nations.
The question is - Are we simply war prone? Is it in our nature to simply fight for dominance?
