There has been a rise in the use of social media in the last decade. Notwithstanding high internet costs in the continent, there has been a continuous increase in the number of Africans signing on and using various social media forum on a daily basis.
Be it Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Blackberry Instant Messaging or Whatsapp, many people see these as an avenue of showing off to peers and the wider society on how well they believe they are doing or how far they have come.
More common these days with people displaying public show of affection to their spouses or partners to the glare of everyone.
Question is - Is it African for couples to engage in public show of affection or are we more discrete in professing our love to our partners/spouses?
